Our Pest Control Services in San Antonio
San Antonio sits in a humid subtropical zone where summers push past 95 degrees and mild winters rarely freeze long enough to knock back insect populations. That keeps pests active year-round. Whether you live in Alamo Heights, Helotes, Converse, or anywhere across the greater City of San Antonio area, heat, moisture, and alkaline clay soil create steady pressure from ants, roaches, termites, scorpions, rodents, and mosquitoes. Stride provides residential pest control and commercial pest management across the metro – including New Braunfels, Boerne, Schertz, Cibolo, Seguin, and Canyon Lake – with same-day service on calls before 3:00 PM.
Alex Randall, our certified applicator and owner, launched this office in January 2020. He holds Termite and General Pest Control Operator certifications from the TDA and the EPA. Stride’s treatment methodology follows integrated pest management principles from the EPA: inspection, identification, recommendation, treatment, and evaluation. Our QualityPro certification standards from the NPMA mean all service members pass background checks, drug screening, and the QualityPro examination before stepping on your property. For trusted San Antonio pest control, contact Stride Pest Control or call (210) 547-8410 for a free inspection.

San Antonio Ant Control
Fire ants are the biggest ant problem in San Antonio. Red imported fire ants build large dirt mounds across yards and can sting repeatedly, which is especially dangerous for small children, elderly residents, and pets. Beyond fire ants, carpenter ants tunnel into moist or damaged wood and can weaken structural framing over time. Crazy ants and odorous house ants invade kitchens and bathrooms looking for food and water.
Our San Antonio ant control starts with a full property inspection to identify the species involved. That matters because the treatment for fire ants in your yard is completely different from what works on carpenter ants inside a wall void. For fire ants, we use a combination approach similar to the Texas A&M AgriLife two-step fire ant control method – broadcast bait across the yard followed by targeted mound treatment. Interior ant issues get tracked back to the colony with baiting and barrier applications. When you need a San Antonio exterminator for ants, our insect control products are pet-safe and odorless once dry.
San Antonio Cockroach Control
Two roach species dominate San Antonio properties. American cockroaches – the large, reddish-brown ones most people call waterbugs – come in from outside through gaps around plumbing, weep holes, and door sweeps. German cockroaches are smaller, tan, and reproduce fast indoors. A single German roach egg case can hatch 30 or more nymphs. According to the pest identification and health risks from the NPMA, cockroaches spread bacteria and allergens that can trigger asthma symptoms, especially in children.
We treat roach problems differently based on the species. American roaches respond well to exterior perimeter treatment and exclusion work – sealing the gaps they use to get inside. German roaches need interior bait placements and targeted applications in kitchens, bathrooms, and anywhere moisture collects. Both species require follow-up monitoring to confirm the population is actually eliminated, not just reduced. Every bug control visit includes a check for new activity.
San Antonio Rodent Control
Roof rats and house mice are the two rodent species we deal with most in San Antonio. Roof rats travel along fence lines and tree branches to access attics and upper floors. House mice squeeze through gaps as small as a dime and set up inside wall voids, garages, and storage areas. Both species gnaw constantly – on wiring, plumbing, insulation, and stored items. A rat chewing through electrical wiring in an attic is a real fire risk, and rodent droppings contaminate the spaces where your family lives.
Our rodent control uses a two-phase approach: interior trapping to remove animals already inside, and exterior exclusion to seal the entry points they used. Exclusion is the part most companies skip. If you trap the mouse but leave a gap under the garage door, another one moves in next week. We inspect the full exterior – roofline, plumbing penetrations, foundation vents, and HVAC lines – and seal every opening. As active NPMA members, our team stays current on exclusion methods through annual Pest World attendance. The inspection is free, and re-service is included with every service agreement, not contracts.
San Antonio Mosquito Control
San Antonio’s warm, humid climate and seasonal rainfall make it prime territory for mosquitoes from early spring through late fall. Standing water in plant saucers, clogged gutters, birdbaths, and poor drainage areas gives mosquitoes the breeding sites they need. The mosquito-borne disease prevention from the CDC identifies mosquitoes as carriers of West Nile virus, Zika, and other illnesses – making mosquito control a health concern, not just a comfort issue.
Stride’s mosquito control uses a two-prong pest treatment approach. We target adult mosquitoes with barrier applications to vegetation, fences, and shaded resting areas around your property. At the same time, we address larvae in standing water sources using growth regulators that break the breeding cycle. Monthly mosquito treatments during the active season keep populations down on your property. We also walk the yard with you and point out breeding sources you can eliminate between visits – sometimes a single overturned bucket or a sagging tarp is feeding the whole problem.
San Antonio Bed Bug Control
Bed bugs travel on luggage, used furniture, and clothing. San Antonio’s tourism traffic, military installations, and college campuses all contribute to bed bug spread across the metro. These pests hide in mattress seams, headboards, baseboards, and electrical outlets during the day and feed at night. By the time most homeowners notice bites or staining on sheets, the infestation is already established. The bed bug identification and signs of infestation from the CDC recommends professional treatment because over-the-counter products rarely reach every hiding spot.
Our bed bug extermination starts with a thorough inspection of every room where activity is suspected. We use targeted chemical applications to the areas where bed bugs hide and travel. Every bed bug treatment includes a follow-up inspection at 10-14 days to confirm the population is eliminated. If we find any remaining activity at that follow-up, we re-treat at no additional charge. Bed bug control is one situation where the guarantee really matters – and ours covers you.
San Antonio Termite Control
San Antonio has both Eastern subterranean termites and Formosan subterranean termites. Formosans are the more aggressive of the two – their colonies can contain millions of workers and cause serious structural damage in a shorter timeframe. Both species build mud tubes along foundations to travel between soil and wood, and they work silently inside walls, floor joists, and framing. According to subterranean termite identification and control from Texas A&M AgriLife, homeowners often don’t notice termite damage until it’s advanced.
Stride Pest Control holds a Termite category on our TDA license (TPCL #827449), and Alex Randall is a certified applicator for termite work. We provide termite inspections, subterranean termite treatment, and Wood Destroying Insect Reports (WDIR) for real estate transactions. Our treatment approach uses bait stations installed around the exterior of the structure. We also handle termite inspections for home buyers and sellers across the San Antonio area. If you are buying a home in Schertz, Cibolo, New Braunfels, or anywhere else we serve, call for a free termite inspection.
San Antonio Spider Control
Brown recluse and black widow spiders are both present in San Antonio. Brown recluses hide in undisturbed areas like closets, storage boxes, and garages. Black widows build webs in dark, sheltered spots around the exterior of homes. Both carry venom that can cause serious reactions, so spider control in San Antonio is about more than just cleaning webs.
Our spider treatment targets the insects spiders feed on. When we reduce the prey population around your home with regular pest control services, spider numbers drop. We also treat common hiding spots directly and recommend reducing clutter in garages and storage areas where spiders tend to settle. Visit the Stride Pest Control homepage to learn more about our IPM approach.
San Antonio Scorpion Control
The striped bark scorpion is the most common species in San Antonio. They are nocturnal, roughly two and a half inches long, and capable climbers – which is why they turn up in attics, shoes, and inside homes after crawling up exterior walls. Their sting is painful and can cause swelling that lasts several days. Allergic reactions are possible.
Scorpion control starts with reducing hiding spots they use during the day – rock piles, wood stacks, leaf debris, and ground cover close to the foundation. We treat the exterior perimeter and common entry points, and check for gaps around attic vents and roofline penetrations where bark scorpions get inside. Regular pest treatment reduces the insects scorpions hunt, making your property less attractive to them.
San Antonio Flea, Tick, and Chigger Control
Fleas, ticks, and chiggers thrive in San Antonio’s warm climate. Fleas hitchhike indoors on pets and embed in carpet and pet bedding. Ticks – especially lone star ticks and brown dog ticks – latch onto people and animals in tall grass. Chiggers are common in shaded, overgrown spots during warmer months. All three bite, and ticks carry diseases that pose real health risks.
We treat yards and interior spaces to break the flea life cycle and reduce tick and chigger populations. Stride Pest Control is a family-owned, licensed and insured company serving Central Texas. Our BBB profile shows an A+ rating with zero complaints on file.
Our Specialized Pest Control Services
For pests that require targeted treatment methods, we offer dedicated service programs. Every service starts with a free inspection.

Rodents
Mice and roof rats are a year-round problem in Austin, TX, with call volume increasing in the fall and winter as rodents seek shelter indoors. We use interior trapping and exterior exclusion to seal entry points and remove existing populations. Every rodent service starts with a free inspection.
Bed Bugs
Bed bugs are hitchhikers that can show up in any Central Texas home regardless of cleanliness, often arriving on luggage, furniture, or clothing. We use targeted chemical applications with a follow-up inspection at 10-14 days to confirm elimination.
Mosquitoes
Central Texas heat and humidity create ideal breeding conditions for mosquitoes from early spring through late fall. Our two-prong approach targets both adult mosquitoes and larvae to reduce populations around your property.
Cockroaches
Roaches thrive in the warm, humid conditions across Central Texas and can carry bacteria, contaminate food, and trigger allergies and asthma. We identify the species to determine the right treatment approach - German roaches require specific prep steps and targeted application.
Ants
Central Texas is home to multiple ant species that invade homes looking for food and water, including fire ants, carpenter ants, and acrobat ants. We identify the species first because different ants require different treatment methods. Every service starts with a free inspection and includes pet/family-friendly products.
Spiders
Central Texas homes commonly see brown recluse and black widow spiders along with wolf spiders, jumping spiders, and orb weavers. We treat the interior and exterior of your home, focusing on the entry points and areas where spiders nest. Every service starts with a free inspection by a TDA-licensed technician.
Scorpions
Scorpions are common across Central Texas, especially in newer developments built on previously undeveloped land where scorpion populations are already established. We treat around the foundation, entry points, and harborage zones where scorpions hide during the day. .

San Antonio Service Area
Stride's San Antonio office at 3501 Pin Oak Dr sits just off I-10 near the Medical Center, which puts most of the metro within a 30-minute drive. The team runs routes Monday through Saturday across Bexar County and into Comal, Guadalupe, and Kendall counties, covering residential neighborhoods, commercial properties, and multi-family housing.
Route scheduling is built around geography, so your technician knows the roads and the pest pressures specific to your part of the metro rather than driving in cold from across town. That local familiarity also means they know which species are most active in each area and what construction types to watch for during inspections.
