Our Pest Control Services in Cibolo
Cibolo sits in western Guadalupe County where suburban growth meets warm, humid conditions that keep pests active nearly year-round. Summers push past 96 degrees, and mild winters rarely get cold enough to knock back ant colonies, roach populations, or termite activity. The city has more than doubled in size over the past decade, and all that new construction and landscaping constantly disturbs soil and creates entry points for pests.
Stride is a family-owned pest control company serving Central Texas since 2013. Our Cibolo pest control service runs on integrated pest management (IPM) principles. Every service member passes a full background check and holds an individual TDA structural pest control license. We’re QualityPro certified – drug-free workplace, 16 standards above state minimums.
| Pest | What to Watch For | Peak Season in Cibolo |
|---|---|---|
| Fire ants | Dome-shaped mounds in yard, especially after rain | Spring through fall |
| American cockroaches | Droppings in cabinets, musty smell, nighttime sightings | Summer (year-round indoors) |
| Rats and mice | Gnaw marks, droppings, scratching in walls or attic | Fall and winter |
| Mosquitoes | Bites at dusk, standing water in yard | April through October |
| Bed bugs | Small blood spots on sheets, bites in clusters | Year-round |
| Subterranean termites | Mud tubes on foundation, hollow-sounding wood, swarmers near windows | Spring swarm season; active year-round |
| Spiders | Webs in corners, brown recluse in storage areas | Spring through fall |
| Scorpions | Found in shoes, garages, bathtubs at night | Summer |
| Fleas and ticks | Pet scratching, bites on ankles, tiny dark specks in carpet | Spring through fall |
Cibolo Ant Control

Red imported fire ants are the number-one ant problem in Cibolo. The warm, moist soil along Cibolo Creek and throughout the city’s newer subdivisions gives them exactly what they need to build large colonies fast. After a good rain, you’ll see fresh mounds pop up overnight in yards, along driveways, and next to foundations. Fire ants sting aggressively when their mound is disturbed, which makes them a real hazard for kids and pets playing outside.
Our ant control treatment follows the Texas A&M AgriLife two-step fire ant control method – broadcast bait across the yard to knock down the overall population, then direct-treat individual mounds that survive. For ants making it indoors – carpenter ants, crazy ants, sugar ants – we trace trails back to entry points and treat with targeted, pet-safe products. Ant control is included in every residential pest control service agreement, not contracts. If ants come back between visits, we come back at no charge.
Cibolo Cockroach Control

Cibolo’s humidity and warm nights make it prime roach territory. American cockroaches – the big ones people call waterbugs – come in through plumbing gaps, weep holes, and cracks in the foundation. German cockroaches are smaller and usually hitch a ride inside through boxes, bags, or used appliances. Both species reproduce fast and carry bacteria that can trigger health risks including asthma and allergies, especially in children. Once roaches settle in, they spread quickly through kitchens, bathrooms, and anywhere moisture is present.
We treat cockroach problems with a combination of gel baits, residual insect control products, and dust applied to wall voids and plumbing penetrations. The treatment targets roaches where they hide, not just where you see them. Our service members also inspect for moisture issues and entry points, because killing the roaches you’ve got doesn’t help if new ones keep walking in. Cockroach control is part of our general pest management plan on every service agreement.
Cibolo Rodent Control

When temperatures drop in the fall, roof rats and house mice push into Cibolo homes looking for food and warmth. You’ll hear scratching in the attic or walls, find droppings in cabinets, or notice gnaw marks on stored items. Rats and mice don’t just cause property damage – they contaminate food surfaces and can chew through wiring, which creates a fire risk.
Our rodent control program starts with a full inspection of your home’s exterior, including the roofline, attic, and foundation. We set interior traps to remove rodents already inside, then perform exclusion work – sealing gaps, closing pipe penetrations, and installing covers where needed to keep them out. A mouse can fit through a gap the size of a dime, so the inspection is thorough. Rodent exclusion is a standalone service. Call (210) 547-8410 for a free inspection if you’re hearing noises or finding droppings in your Cibolo home.
Cibolo Mosquito Control

Cibolo’s proximity to Cibolo Creek and the standing water that collects in newer subdivisions after rain make mosquitoes a persistent problem from April through October. Even small amounts of water in flower pot saucers, clogged gutters, or low spots in the yard are enough for mosquitoes to breed. They aren’t just annoying – mosquitoes carry diseases including West Nile virus and Zika. The CDC recommends professional mosquito control as part of a broader prevention strategy, especially in areas with standing water nearby.
Our mosquito control uses a two-prong approach. We treat adult mosquitoes with a targeted spray applied to resting areas – shaded vegetation, fence lines, under decks, and around patios. We also treat standing water sources with larvicide to stop the next generation before it hatches. Treatments run monthly during mosquito season and include a re-service if you see a spike between visits. Most customers add mosquito control to their existing pest control services for seamless scheduling.
Cibolo Bed Bug Control

Bed bugs don’t care how clean your house is. They travel on luggage, furniture, and clothing, and Cibolo’s location along I-35 between San Antonio and New Braunfels means plenty of movement through the area. Signs of a bed bug problem include small blood spots on sheets, itchy bite clusters (usually on arms and shoulders), and tiny dark specks along mattress seams. The CDC notes that bed bugs require professional treatment because over-the-counter products rarely reach the hidden spots where they breed.
Our bed bug treatment uses targeted chemical applications to mattresses, box springs, bed frames, baseboards, and furniture in affected rooms. We schedule a follow-up inspection at 10-14 days to catch any eggs that survived the initial treatment. If activity is found at follow-up, we retreat at no additional charge. Bed bug control is a standalone service – call for a free inspection if you suspect an infestation in your Cibolo home.
Cibolo Termite Control

Subterranean termites are the primary termite threat in Cibolo TX. The moist clay soils in Guadalupe County give them exactly the conditions they need – contact with ground moisture and easy tunneling to reach wood structures above. Termites build mud tubes along foundations and inside wall voids, eating wood from the inside out. By the time you see visible damage – buckling floors, hollow-sounding studs, or paint that bubbles for no clear reason – the colony has been feeding for months. Texas A&M AgriLife identifies subterranean termites as the most destructive wood-destroying insect in the state.
Stride holds a Termite (T) category on our TDA license TPCL #827449, and certified applicator Alexander Randall oversees every termite treatment. We install monitoring bait stations around the foundation and apply liquid termiticide where active infestations are found. We also provide Wood Destroying Insect Reports (WDIR) for real estate transactions. If you’re buying or selling a home in Cibolo, call for a termite inspection.
Cibolo Spider Control

Most spiders in Cibolo are harmless, but brown recluse and black widow spiders show up in garages, storage areas, and cluttered spaces. Brown recluse bites can cause serious skin reactions that need medical attention, and black widows carry venom that affects the nervous system. Spider populations inside a home usually mean there’s an underlying insect control problem – spiders follow the food. Our treatment reduces the prey insects that attract spiders, and we apply residual product to entry points, eaves, and corners where webs build up. Spider control is covered under our general residential pest control service agreement.
Cibolo Scorpion Control

Striped bark scorpions are the most common species in the Cibolo area. They’re nocturnal, hiding under rocks, mulch, and debris during the day, then finding their way inside through gaps under doors and around plumbing penetrations. Stings are painful and can be dangerous for children and people with sensitivities. They tend to show up most in summer when nighttime temperatures stay warm. Our scorpion control targets entry points with residual product and reduces the crickets and roaches scorpions feed on. We also check the attic and garage – two spots scorpions favor. Scorpion treatment is included in our general pest management plan as part of every service agreement.
Cibolo Flea, Tick, and Chigger Control

Fleas, ticks, and chiggers are common in Cibolo yards, especially where pets spend time or where tall grass borders the property. Fleas reproduce fast indoors – a single flea can lay hundreds of eggs in carpet and upholstery. Ticks carry diseases including Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Chiggers cause intense itching and tend to cluster in shaded, grassy areas. Our flea, tick, and chigger treatment covers both interior and exterior. We treat carpets, baseboards, and pet resting areas inside, then apply a yard treatment to reduce populations outside. Pair this with your vet’s flea prevention for the best results.

Cockroaches
Roaches thrive in the warm, humid conditions across Central Texas and can carry bacteria, contaminate food, and trigger allergies and asthma. We identify the species to determine the right treatment approach - German roaches require specific prep steps and targeted application.

We treat the interior and exterior of your home, focusing on the entry points and areas where spiders nest. Every service starts with a free inspection by a TDA-licensed technician.
Scorpions
Scorpions are common across Central Texas, especially in newer developments built on previously undeveloped land where scorpion populations are already established. We treat around the foundation, entry points, and harborage zones where scorpions hide during the day. .

San Antonio Service Area
Stride's San Antonio office at 3501 Pin Oak Dr sits just off I-10 near the Medical Center, which puts most of the metro within a 30-minute drive. The team runs routes Monday through Saturday across Bexar County and into Comal, Guadalupe, and Kendall counties, covering residential neighborhoods, commercial properties, and multi-family housing.
Route scheduling is built around geography, so your technician knows the roads and the pest pressures specific to your part of the metro rather than driving in cold from across town. That local familiarity also means they know which species are most active in each area and what construction types to watch for during inspections.
